show me your teeth

So i would actually like to have 'pearly whites' cause at the moment they're more like pearly off-whites and i think that needs to change. I adore white teeth, they just make your mouth look so perfect and white teeth and red lipstick just draws that much more attention to your face - in a good way, unless you get lipstick on you teeth :S

but anyway I'm not really 100% sure how to go about this. I have found a few ways that i can do which are D.I.Y, which i love cause that means it affordable and if it doesn't work well I'm already home, hehe. So i think over the next month ill try each once an update and at the end just decided which one is better?
Not sure how its gonna work but we'll see and if all else fails its off to the dentist for a professional whitening i think :D

So these are the 3 methods i found;
1 - Baking soda and Water.
  • Put some baking soda in a cup and pour in the water the ratio should be 50% 50%
  • Mix it around and keep mixing until it has a paste consistency
  • when its all mixed dip in your toothbrush and brush your teeth with it for a good 2- 3 minutes, really brush your teeth well.
  • It'll become a foam consistency and that foam will start eating away at the staining that you have on your teeth.
2 - Lime and Salt :D
Basically you do the same as the above but instead of water and baking soda use 50% lime juice (fresh undoubtedly, but i think from a bottle should be fine) and 50% salt.

3 - Hydrogen Peroxide
Just put a few drops on your toothbrush and then again follow the same steps as above :D

Then rinse your mouth out with cold water afterward and your all good to go :)

So i guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens, ill start in the new month, so only 4 days to go.

How do you whiten your teeth, what do you use?

until next time keep your teeth clean and remember an apple a day wont only keep the doctor away but the bacteria too :)

clean brushes = healthy skin

As we all know not cleaning your brushes is a very big mistake, its like not washing your face at the end of the day. Once you've used them everything gets trapped and when you use them the following day your reapplying oil and bacteria which tends to lead to brake outs :S and then that's just something else you've gotta worry about and cover up.

So i thought id share a couple of different ways you can clean your brushes :)

The first and most basic way that everyone is aware of is using Brush Cleanser, but I've been told that the manufacturers create this product to slowly erode and eat away at the brushes also causing the hairs to become brittle and full out resulting in having to buy more brushes and cleanser. I'm not sure of how much truth is here but i don't wanna risk it! You can also use soft facial cleansers though I've never used this before so I'm not to sure of the results. Plus i wash most my brushes everyday so this could get very priceyyy.

The second option you can use is baby shampoo. You pretty much use this exactly the same way you would use a brush cleanser. Squirt a small amount on to a piece of paper towel or on to small dish, swirl the brushes around until the make up and pigment begins to come out then using warm water rinse them and swirl in your palm under the water until it becomes clear, then squeeze out the remaining water.

(DO NOT use hot water as it will damage your brushes)

Also with this the brushes that are meant to be soft like your foundation brush etc.. you should also use baby conditioner on them to keep them soft and smooth :)

And lastly this is a way that I've just discovered and having been using for about 2 weeks or so. It's basically how oil painters cleaner their brushes plus it disinfects the brushes too, which i love.
You'll need anti-bacterial dish washing soap and extra virgin olive oil.
the anti-bacterial dish washing soap will remove EVERYTHING - oil, pigment, dirt plus kill the Bactria. The only con being it strips the hair of its natural oils and drys them out, which is why you use the extra virgin olive oil :)

On a plate pour around 2 -3 tbsp of the dish washing then add about 1 tbsp of the extra olive oil. With your brush stir in a circular motion, you should be able to see some of the dirt coming off the brush, then wipe back and forth in the palm of your hand, then leave the brush on a piece of paper towel while you don the rest of your brushes. Once there all done you gotta rinse them, so rinse them under warm water swirling in your palm and squeezing out the water until the water comes out clear. Then wipe them dry with paper towel.

And wah la done :D

Now lastly a note about drying your brushes a lot of people dry them upright or on there side which you shouldn't really do as the water runs back in to the brush with germs and such, which can ruin the glue causing the hairs to fall out and become brittle, so if you can dry them upside down in a cup for an hour or so just to draw the moisture out. I do this by putting my protective brush covers on and putting them upside down in the cup cause this way the brushes don't touch the water :)

I'm not really to sure of what brush protection and storage is out there at the moment so ill look into it and get back to you, cause i need some myself :)
Or if you have any suggestions?

I wash my foundation brush, and blush brush everyday and my eyeshadow brushes every time i want to use a new colour.
so how many times a month do you wash your brushes?

that's all for this afternoon so always take care of your brushes and i wish you beautiful skin.

Cause im a free bitch, baby.

Heyy
so the day has finally come for me to join the bandwagon and shop online :S eBay watch out.
i think its safe to say that my days of having money in my bank are now officially gone, although I'm never going to have anything to wear.

I'm currently trying to enforce a weekly shopping budget but with my wish list currently being SO huge i hope that i can employ it. The plan being if i can simply shop online the temptation will be gone we i walk through a mall or plaza or any small boutique, this will be quite an interesting experiment i think. Though I could be addicted to worse things the spending all my money in a few days right? like .. hard drugs?!

'Got my addictions, and i love to fix 'em. But no ones perfect'

So anyway as a result i can update everything more often and cheaper (hopefully) , celebrations :D

as well as this i have more internet time :D so they're will be more posts coming soon. Hopefully i can keep it up :D

p.s where have all the SKY HIGH heels gone???

That's it for now - quick and easy :) , chat later

heyy my invisibles ..

so this isn't what i had in mind when i started writing today's blog but my roll was interrupted and I'm not sure how to finish it so i guess that will be one for a rainy day.

and moving on.

When Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper join forces you know its gotta be good!

So they are the new spokeswomen for MACs Viva Glam and are both releasing lipsticks, which i WILL be purchasing. At $35 each they're beautiful and 100% of whats paid is going to MAC AIDS fund so why not buy them? plus don't you just love the signatures on the case? =D

i must have for all i believe. i mean most women spend at least 20 minutes (at the very least for me :S) a day doing there make up which is something like 330 days in a lifetime so why not use products made for a good cause? and if you think about it really like poll that was done in the UK. They crunched the numbers to find an estimated price of what we spend on make up in a lifetime, hold your breath ladies. Est. values = $15,000 which at first made me cringe and then say hmm whats $35 out of $15,000, really? imagine the price spent on shoes? know that's scary numbers.

now that Ive put it off all day its time to apply for jobs *fingers crossed* that this time i get lucky :D and then ill continue feeding two (of my many) addictions: the Internet and TV series's :P
last thought, think this will be the next thing on my to buy list :D

where cool came to die..

"no, why would i want to star in your next film Steven Spielberg?"
oh hey, i didn't see you there!"

I'm Amanda.
So quick intro:
- I like my milk with ice cubes and my coffee white with none (sugar and ice cubes)
- There nothing funnier then Rick Rolling someone
- I love fashion/make up and draw inspiration from the 50s' and pin up girls
- MMO v. IRL and MMO will likely win
- I'm a geek with a proudly fashion forward and 957865 pairs of shoes
- I'm a facebook junkie
- I consume mainly caffeine, nicotine and energy drinks
- and i get off on being spontaneous :)

Phew now that, that's out of the way we can get to the nitty gritty of things, which to be honest there isn't really much of :P
[ah, no good sigway..] Recently i've watched the Academy Awards like a majority of the population anyway as most people already/should know (spoiler alert) Catherine Bigelow won best motion picture and director. Now for me these moments where just fantastic and hilarious for a couple of reasons one of the most obvious being, every time someone said her name i giggled and said 'female gigolo?' (not so original know BUT still funny?) . Secondly she bit out not only one of the biggest budget movies 'Avatar' but ALSO her Ex-Husband. Now is there any better revenge then this? Not only in his filled of expertise did she own his arse on a movie with a substantially lower budget it was in front of international crowds!! oh how sweet :D plus she became the first women to win best director, also against said Ex-Husband. That feeling would be one to envy for more than a lifetime. Despite everything though truly deserved it with a fantastic end piece, and just a side note Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin hosting? - good job academy awards 10 points :D

Now that I've ranted about that i can continue to do it about other topics XD
So.. I'm new to the whole "Blogging"experience (probably already noted in the above intro S but any who.. ) and am really feeling like the new kids, and as I'm typing I'm like hmm - don't judge me, don't judge me, don't judge me .. just think I'm awesome and adopt me as the coolkid :D and it may surprise you to know that this never actually has happened to me. It's always, everyone this is Amanda shes new, everyone: hiii Amandaa. Then i speak and it's all pretty downhill from there (except when i meet your mum ;D). And so now it probably obvious to you now why I'm just so cool.. after that long winded speech i have no idea where i was going with this so now I'm gonna move on till i remember? -.^(if i do)

"WHATS THAT DISTRACTION?"

Now to update you, well not that I have anything to update you on seeing as this is my first so here a little something going on in my life recently, so i wanna tell you its action packed and full of epically exciting things but.. its not.
So the week ahead; mainly its work (eh early starts -.-) so I'm up from 5am 5 days a week, then sometime i might bake some custard tart cause I've been craving the so badly, like someone who really craves custards tarts, so a fat kid?
The rest of my week (other then work) I'll have coffee with the girls which is more like SATC then you'd think and then Saturday it's time to go out :D ill be seeing 'Art vs. Science' (www.myspace.com/artvsscience) which shall be amazing fun, and possibly very messy :P.Now if you don't know who they are then i suggest to you to go give them a quick listen, just click the link!
Only other thing on this month would be LADY GAGA (WWLGD? is in fact my new motto, just FYI) and i think i might just go GAGA at this concert. I get to listen to amazing music surrounded by crazy costumes - clearly in line for a good time, then doubt it'll be time to get some cheap wine and put the cherry on the top of the chocolate sundae which would be the concert with my girls = perfection.

Yeah right anyways blah blah blah blah I'm pretty much done, but stay tuned (do it he he) so i can keep you posted on my amazing life where since as long as i can remember cool has come to die like seagulls going out to sea, but in a good way :P
A book review will be up sometime in the next twoish weeks (just giving myself enough time to read AND write, smart? nope, lazy.) It'll be 'Sweet Little Lies' by Lauren Conrad the sequel to 'L.A Candy' , thought id start out light for the first one - make it easier on everyone. Like really LIGHT and SIMPLE like fat free yogurt or the original space invaders.
That's it though got any suggestions on anything, possible writing improvements? just leave a comment below or maybe something that i can review next?
